Your ringing endorsement is exactly the reason I don't think it happens.  Would we really get any reasonable return if that's the way a buying team sees Trey?

If Trey is traded, the return will be underwhelming if he is the only asset being moved in that deal. Maybe a future solid BP guy and a raw low A player would be about the most I expect at this point. They save $3 million and get to DH/1B others, like Nevin.

I think he would, but I don't see that Trey has much value. May as well let him finish the year, and then he can play out his career on a string of ever diminishing one year deals. We have better options ready at AAA, if we were really attempting to compete

Jay Jaffe pegs SEA-CLE as the two AL clubs down at the DH position.    If we fold, Trey to one of these teams could make sense but boy would that be a bitter pill in the clubhouse.
