Shorebirds late season lineups

Just Regular

Last year all the college guys helped Delmarva score a bunch of runs late, but we didn't have much from the Latin pipeline there yet.    We still don't have the Basallo-level millionaire into full season, but tonight's lineup does give a little taste of a more operational pipeline on all fronts:

CF Trimble, DH Prado, 3B Wagner, RF Beavers, LF Fabian, 1B De Leon, C Ardoin, 2B Bencosme, SS Crampton.    Five runs and counting three innings along.

Next year we might see SS Holliday and C Basallo in parallel with SS Gunnar and C Adley four levels up!

What happened to SS Carter Young? You figure paying him over slot, you want him getting professional coaching and weight training right away.

Who says he isn't getting professional coaching and weight training?  Based on how he regressed during his college years, he clearly has either mechanical or approach issues at the plate.  They could simply be prioritizing cage work and analytical studies over game action at the moment.  Put his time in energy into the things that will give him the most outcome.

Isaac De Leon is hitting .349/.396/.628 in 48 PA in August.

Almost edited to mention him and De Los Santos, there are also a couple other interesting players but certainly a lot of chaff on that roster through most of the season.

Over 1100 plate appearances to players with an OPS of .568 or lower. Plus another 895 plate appearances to players with an OPS between .608 and .654.

By the way, last night’s 17-run outburst in the Delmarva debut of our top college draftees was even bigger than last year’s  10-run outburst in the Cowser et al. debut for the Shorebirds.  Glad to see our guys know how to make an entrance!

Young was a late signing so i would assume he a week or two behind the other guys in getting at bats at the complex. I would think he is getting game action by end of August in Delmarva.
