Mancini wouldn’t steal ABs from Stowers. He’d likely steal them from Hays. Stowers in LF. Santander in RF. Mountcastle at 1B. Mancini at DH. Hays was like 1-27 with RISP in August last year.

Trade Mountcastle and I’m Ok with signing Mancini.  One year stop gap until we get some more bats up.  I still like giving Westburg ABs at first base.  He profiles similar to Mountcastle with better OBP.

So happy for Trey, and happy he is going to Chicago.  I grew up in Iowa and most of my family and friends are Cubs fans.  For years I've been telling them how great of a leader and player Trey is.  It is so gratifying to see those family and friends celebrating tonight.  I think Trey will hit really well in Wrigley.

2 years 14 million with possibility of 2 years 21 million based on plate appearances.  I love Trey but if we would have gave him that deal I would have not liked it.

I wouldn't complain.  Not my checkbook.  If ownership won't spend money on top end free agents, might as well pass the cash along to someone like Trey.
