How many times this year has that happened to Mountcastle now? Feels like a bunch. If I'm him, I'm begging to be traded in the offseason.

I hated the short left field porch before, but I don't like the change they made either. Why was it so hard to just put a nice mlb average fence in place? It's just an ugly gimmicky part of the stadium to me now.

Does anyone else have MLB TV, as I do, and been having blurred streaming that comes and goes. It just happened to me several times that bottom half of the inning (as well as several times the last 2 or 3 O's games) and I am wondering if it is the feed or my computer.

I use MLB.TV through a Roku and haven't had that problem. It's probably a good 15-20 seconds behind live though.

Question regarding the modern infatuation with the base on balls.

Is there too much emphasis put on drawing walks?  Kevin Brown was just praising Hays for b his string of 6 games drawing a walk.  That's fine and all, but so what?  The idea behind drawings walks is it is an indication of how well a batter is seeing pitches.  If that doesn't translate into a higher BABIP or slugging percentage, what good is it.   To me, the batter is so preoccupied with drawing the walk, he passes up good, hittable pitches early in the count and gets into a lot of two strike counts where he is forced to sing at a pitcher's pitch,  or leave himself at the mercy of the umpire on borderline calls.

To me, a lot of walks isn't very helpful if the batter can't use that "seeing pitches " skill to hit strikes early in the count when he sees them.
