Senga wants to play in a big market.

The Angels, Red Sox, Rangers, Blue Jays, Mariners, Cubs, Dodgers, and Padres have all been linked to Senga’s market, and it’s probably fair to assume that every contender with a rotation need will make a call to Senga’s agent Joel Wolfe.  As per Wolfe’s recent comments to Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago, Senga is “very open minded” about his move to North America, but “would like to play in a big market with a team that wants to try and win right now.  He has a great deal of interest in being in a big market.”

These things can get screwed up in translation. Maybe  Senga said he has a lot of interest in playing "near a big warehouse" rather than "in a big market," and we have a leg up on the competition."

Plawecki makes sense.

Swanson is interesting. Only 28 and out WARed Correa.  Would make sense if we trade a bunch of the Mateo-Urias-Norby types in an all in move.

Archer looks like a poor man's Lyles. Hope he's not at the top of the list.

Plawecki makes sense?   He’s thrown out 8 of 91 basestealers the last two years.  He also OPS of .574 last year.   Pass.

Chris Archer?  Seriously?

I mean, I knew we weren't getting Verlander or deGrom, but Archer isn't even an obvious upgrade over our internal options.

Holt must see something in Archer that he thinks he  can improve.

Swanson would be a big offensive improvement but his range is no where close to Mateo.

Backup catcher offense is generally poor.  Plawecki had a good offensive 2021.
