I’m going to use this thread to track significant free agent signings as they occur.   I’ll deem them significant if the signing is for $5 mm/yr guaranteed. That’s a pretty low bar.   The OP will be updated.  Here’s what I have so far:

They’ve got the pay roll room for it. They can’t be cheap forever and if SP is worth that much in FA then it’ll also increase the trade value and I can’t see Elias overpaying in prospects. Not yet at least

Not saying you're wrong, but would be pretty pathetic if that scares them off from signing a top starter.

Anderson: 33 years old next season, 802 IP, 109 ERA+, including 178 innings at 163 ERA+ in 2022.

Eflin: 29 years old next season, 659 IP, 95 ERA+, including 75.2 IP at 101 ERA+ in 2022.

Recognizing that Anderson is 4 years older, it still feels like he jumped too soon snd could have gotten a much better deal if he’d waited a bit.

You have Diaz who did not switch teams. Then you have guys like Rizzo ,Suarez  and Montero..

Anderson did have the QO drag.

None of these others were team changes, but NYY Rizzo ~$20mm AAV, STL Wainwright $17.5 and HOU Montero ~$11mm are others I've jotted down.

That 3/$39M for Anderson felt about right at the time but he was definitely hurt by the Qualifying Offer and moreso because it forced him to jump earlier to ensure rejecting the QO made sense. I'm still a bit surprised he didn't just take the QO though.
