I would be on board with signing him to a 2 year deal.  I can see him matching or outproducing Abreu for a big discount.  Upgrade on Mountcastle, who could be traded or kept and 1B/DH split.

Agreed, but relatively low risk with two years (and the opt out).

I'm a bit surprised he didn't get a third year...though the AAV is also higher than I originally thought (that said, every deal so far has been higher in some way than I originally thought).

How about Michael Conforto? LH bat, career .356 OBP and 124 OPS+. Had a down year in '21 (.729 OPS), declined QO to hit free agency, only to injure his shoulder while training in January. Could he be one of the Boras clients we are supposedly getting feathered up on?
