Knight was a 3rd rounder from Duquette’s last draft.   McLarty was the highest-drafted pitcher (8th round) in Elias’ first draft for the O’s.  McGinness was drafted that year too.

I saw him get lit up for two bombs in the game I saw in Clearwater.  BP fastballs.  Oddly, I was watching him throw in the OF before the game and he looked impressive in his routine but didn’t realize who he was until he came in to spell Bradish.  Oh well!

No surprises.  Nuestrom is the best of the bunch and should have no problem catching on with another team’s AAA affiliate.

I was expecting Cadyn Grenier’s name as well.

Keeping Grenier around just to keep certain posters happy.

Grenier and Adam Hall might be two names you don't see start off with a full season squad...

It’s amazing what Elias has accomplished when you reflect on these names. They were our top SS prospects during Duquette’s regime. Both selected 2nd round in their respective draft. Both had limited upside and not super athletic.

The Grenier pick irked me so much.  I still think that the only reason the O's pick him there was that their next pick was forfeited.  He was such an obvious reach.

I see they parted ways with the "prize" for the Miguel Castro trade. I remember doing a quick scouting of the guy after the trade was announced and couldn't figure out for the life of me why anyone thought he was a "top" prospect. That trade goes down as a fail as Castro had more value than Kevin Smith. Even if the goal was to lose, and I do think that was the early goal, you have to try and get more for a solid middle/setup reliever.

Neustrom almost became interesting, but alas, he just was never able to tapped into his plus raw power enough in game time and he's just to slow and unathletic in the outfield to make up for that.
