On The Compound podcast this week, both Ian Happ and Zach Short talked about being taught by Rizzo (I think?) that as long as you're successful getting walks, the hits will come.  They both said they were happiest early in the season when they were walking, because they knew they'd be hitting soon. 

So yeah, I think Gunnar could very well be looking to walk every time, until he sees his pitch.

Mountcastle already has three walks to start the season. He started drawing more walks the second half last year good to see that trend continuing.

I think he was looking off-speed outer half of the plate.  Regardless, the 3-1 pitch should have been jacked.
