Maybe Elias was right in not investing much in trying to improve this team. It's hard to lift off, or compete or whatever, when you have from 0 to 2 reliable starting pitchers and don't have strong SP candidates to promote, leaving you to wait for the existing rotation to improve.

That lapse in covering first made it look like GRod, like some of his teammates early this season, is new to the game of baseball.

I still think these lapses in judgement are a product of having no accountability. When their big lovable Hyder is patting them on the back, making excuses in the press, and never pulling a guy from a game or not starting them the next day after these mental lapses just creates an environment where young players feel very comfortable.

I want players thinking there is always someone ready to take my opinion and mental errors is a great way to give them that chance.

There's probably a market inefficiency Driveline could explore.

It seems like they mostly teach them to throw the unhittable stuff.     I never have to cover first if you can't touch me, bruh.   And in the Minors for the most part they couldn't.

Gotta get Cease out of the game. The orioles have very little chance against him. This is what an ace looks like. I'm not sure Elias understand what they look like and the importance of having that guy. Also, not sure he understands how hard it is to acquire them once teams have one.

People aren't going to trade you a young TOR for your positionally challenged extra hitting prospects.

Rodriguez and Hall think they’re Greg Maddux with 5 pitches when they are more like Freddy Garcia or Yovanni Gallardo.

I'd take EITHER of those pitchers in their prime over what we have now...we are going to be a cellar dweller with this rotation,,

I know we have a lot of upside in certain areas but I’m jealous.

Tampa signs their young talent long term and has been great and developing or acquiring talent players to surround their core. They are not risk adverse like Elias is.

Elias and Hyde are very comfortable as they are given "who know how long contracts" from an owner who is very comfortable just making money.
