G Rod has nothing to prove in AAA.  Have him pitch in long relief.  That's what they used to do with rookie pitchers.    McDonald said he is too amped up.  Long relief isn't as stressful.  Once he figures it out, he returns to the rotation.

He could prove he can throw a strike that isn't right down the middle.  That would be nice.

That would be a really bad way to waste a year of service time and development.

He’s going to have to learn how to get it done as a starter. Saying he doesn’t have anything to prove in the minors isn’t really accurate. 
 

He hasn’t been good since the injury last year Majors, Minors, or Spring Training. - Poor command is poor command.

Part of me wants to be mad about the way they're playing, and the other part is hoping it'll wake up ownership and maybe compel them to supplement the roster.
