Duke is putting it on Virigina and KB breaks out with...

"Virginia's just tilting at windmills right now!"

After he has to explain the Don Quixote reference to fellow announcer, the announcer breaks out with...

"Sometimes I forget how dorky you are."

That's our Kevin Brown, frenz.

I’d say the other announcer is pretty illiterate to not understand that reference.

How many millions of people have not read Don Quixote yet get it? I’d like people that professionally talk and explain things be able to have a little outside sports knowledge.

I agree with Roy....best since Jon Miller. And I too have been in broadcasting for a long time.

He’s getting better but there remains no comparison between Brown and Eric Nadel/Matt Hicks.

Or between Brown and Joe Angel/Gary Thorne.

He did say the winning run was on in the bottom of the 8th. The run scored, but it clearly wasn't the winning run. He's okay, though.

In my opinion, and I've been in broadcasting for 45 years...he's the best young announcer I've heard do baseball play by play...and easily the best Oriole broadcaster since Jon Miller...but thats my opinion. And I respect my opinion.

I don't have any problems with Kevin Brown. I enjoy him, just pointing out his faux pas from last night.

He just needs to stop talking about the "Swifties."

I guess it was a faux pas.  I think he understood it was only the 8th inning and it would only be the winning run if the bullpen held the lead.

Definitely not a mistake Jon Miller would have made.   He was a stickler for correct terminology and would have said "go-ahead run".   He does not call it a ground rule double when the ball bounced into the stands, he insists on calling it an "automatic double", because it is based on a standard baseball rule that applies everywhere rather than a ground rule which is specific to a ballpark (i.e. top of the grounds crew roof is a  HR, the catwalks in Tropicana, various yellow lines in different ballparks, etc.   Those are ground rules).

I like Kevin Brown. But I wouldn't go as far as saying he's the best since Jon Miller. I rather liked Gary Thorne too.

I think Kevin keeps getting better as he continues to do his thing. And he has his own endearing individual personality that he brings to the entertainment product of the baseball games, too. He mixes well with Ben and Jim.

My only criticism is when he gets too distracted with sidetracked thoughts and doesn't pay attention to the action on the field inside the game that's happening.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
