I was wondering how long it’d take you to remind us of your Eric Nadel love after you returned.

I hope you won the raffle!

and I hope you listened.

And yes I was pretty sure you’d comment, too.

Nadel has been dealing with medical issues(sigh) and he’s in his mid-70s, So it’s unclear how much long he’s going to be broadcasting, but when he has his last day, I will be very sad, and I won’t be the only one.

Can agree to disagree.  While I think what happened to him last year was absolutely wrong and shameful, I wouldn’t miss him if he wasn’t calling games this year.

Yeah, you’ve made your opinion clear several times.   You’re in the distinct minority.

I wish for zero Orioles announcers mentions of the unswept regular season streak.     That thing needs to go all the way to 11 on the We don't talk about Bruno scale.

I feel on a gut level Kevin Brown, Brett Hollander and whoever are still going to be shilling it, and it is going to be awful every time.

As long as they have one of them mention the streak and then have a another announcer speak over them saying "Regular season only" I think it's OK to keep it going.

This is where I’m at. Brown has a good voice for calling games, but I could do without his silly references or when he’s trying to be funny.

It’s baseball, I’m already interested. Don’t screw it up.

I'll just offer my opinion. I DO think I know something about broadcasting, if that matters. But my opinion is, Kevin Brown is the best Oriole PBP man since Jon Miller. He's to me..an absolute gem of a talent.

I completely agree.

I’d take Joe Angel but I’ll take Brown over Thorne.

He is now calling Virginia at Duke down at Cameron for ESPN, which seems higher up the basketball announcing ranks than I've heard him at to date.

He has called some similar games but this is more of a prime time slot than I have seen him.

Duke is putting it on Virigina and KB breaks out with...

"Virginia's just tilting at windmills right now!"

After he has to explain the Don Quixote reference to fellow announcer, the announcer breaks out with...

"Sometimes I forget how dorky you are."

That's our Kevin Brown, frenz.

Its an interesting control to hear this for observing what parts of his work product are the Syracuse sports media training without him feeling any pressure as a MASN contractor to push the organization's product.

Will Rubenstein's taste for the talking heads to bleed orange be less than either Peter or John's, with the Jon Miller losing and last year's mini-fiasco?

On a certain level it would be fantastic entertainment if the change is ratified and a week or two later in games some of Brown's mannerisms on Orioles broadcasts calm down a little bit.    Bruce Zimmermann isn't Cy Young, why, knock me over...

    • Not for someone who has money riding on him winning the award.
    • Well, now that we’ve established the hitting sucks, is it a good time to complain that this pitching is obviously over performing and will crash and burn any day now?
    • The bullpen has much more depth this year than last year but it just feels like you don’t know who will be the guy each night.  Last year it was get to the 8th and you knew it was Cano and Bautista and lights out.  This year it doesn’t seem to be set roles especially with Kimberly strugggles and out as clasper for now possibly.  I also think Hyde gets a lot of grief about how he handles the bullpen but I think he has been great at looking at the game situation and with who he wants facing what guys.  Cano might come in the 6th one night then close the next, same with Webb or even Coulumbe.  I know a lot of it is analytics but as a group they make a plan and seem to stick with it instead of some managers that have 7 inning guy an 8th inning guy and closer and don’t deviate much.
    • On the replay you can see that Julio was lightly jogging after the ball-- either assuming the RF would get it, or assuming Hays wouldn't run. Good on Hays for taking advantage and turning it into a double.
    • I think in general people are more negative in life not just in sports and they need to blame someone or something.  In previous years we had a scapegoat in Peter and John.  Elias didn’t go out and make a trade it was because he didn’t have the money to go get anyone or the owner didn’t want to spend.  Now for the most part people seem to think new ownership will give the ok to spend more so now if we don’t do it it is on Elias, Sig, and Hyde for not getting best out of the players.  We dint make a big trade last year and most people just went with well John is cheap we don’t do what they want now it will fall on Elias more then last year in peoples eyes imo.
    • Mike Baumann.  An enigma wrapped in a conundrum.  Ride the wave!
    • The Yankees have been extremely healthy on offense as well.  If that somehow happens all year they will be right there with us but if I was a betting man I don’t think Judge, Stanton, Rizzo can stay healthy all year and they have very little depth behind those guys.  Besides Adley we have guys at every other position that can fill in if someone goes down.  There might be a drop some but I don’t think it would be catastrophic like losing Judge or Soto.
