Yeah, football may bet the ratings and its the most popular game in the land...but man, when baseball is tense and important...and you see something like that...it re-enforces the belief that baseball is the greatest game of ALL. ..The game of second (and THIRD) chances...what an 18 hour window of thrills that was for Oriole fans.. Baseball is the greatest game of all when your team is good... It was the worst game of all from 2018-2021 for Oriole fans (for me at least). And unlike football, I have zero desire to watch other teams play. I will take a peak at the WS, that's all. I think that's the difference. Mullins and Mateo not even in the game until the late innings and they won it. That's called deep depth baby. Yep, Deep Depth as Earl called it. I had almost forgotten about that until you mentioned it. I think Earl had just gotten dentures around that time so it was hard for him to say without a lisp. MDK02
Anyone else feel like it was a playoff series these past two games? Just great, intense baseball. I can’t wait for October!

vab
Playoff baseball is just going to be another game for these guys. Look at the week they just had - Tuesday giving up a grand slam in the 9th to lose a game. Thursday goes down to the last pitch with Urias saving the game by keeping a ball in the infield in the 9th. Saturday somehow winning a game after being shut out for 9 innings with Bautista going 2 innings then the ridiculous 9th and 10th innings today. I get what you’re saying but playoffs is a different animal from the build up to first pitch and the intensity of every pitch. Also, nationally televised games and all eyes are on that game. I think this can handle it but there’s really no preparing for that. Just my opinion.

More 2012 (but better) vibes for me. In both cases it is/was clear a good team's a brewing but they are bringing the noise earlier than expected. The resiliency of this group is what is impressing me. They have had a few bad losses here and there (first Houston game most recently) that would have sent past Oriole teams reeling into long losing streaks. But they shake it off like it's nothing. Or even in-game. Past teams wouldn't have recovered from the tying HR after the Mullins catch, but they found a way. Just a great season so far. Hell, Fuji even pitched well.

Game thread also wanted Vespi and was convinced Fuji would blow it when he went 3-0 to the first guy.
