Ive watched baseball for more than 60 years..Ive NEVER seen a sequence like we just saw...Mullins saves the game ..then Baumann on a couple of piches later blows the game...and then Mullins TWICE hit the ball hard enough to have a home run and then DOES get the game winner. Yeah, football may bet the ratings and its the most popular game in the land...but man, when baseball is tense and important...and you see something like that...it re-enforces the belief that baseball is the greatest game of ALL. ..The game of second (and THIRD) chances...what an 18 hour window of thrills that was for Oriole fans..

Roy, not sure if you are a hockey fan or not, but playoff hockey has the same deeply intense feeling as playoff/critical baseball that we saw yesterday. They're the only sports that realistically have the potential for a game-changing play basically constantly. Every single pitch in baseball could be a scoring play, and a goal can come out of nowhere in hockey. Both will put an absolute lump in your throat from start to finish.

There's nothing like white-knuckling it through one of your favorite team's games.

I like the Mariners, but their fans are weird.

Why?  Because there’s some tiny group of people who took offense at the “King Felix” remark?   I would not want O’s fans to be judged by the most thin-skinned part of our fan base, that’s for damned sure.

By the way, they drew over 125,000 fans for the 3-game series.  The O’s have been playing in front of really big crowds ever since the all-star break, it seems.

Man, what a couple of days that was.  Felix Hernandez's Mariners HOF induction was super cool to be at.  Seattle really loves that guy.  I knew it was going have to be a miracle for us to pull a win out with Kirby on the mound after that.  I did inform the man that he was not as cool as Wayne Kirby, for whom I named my dog after, but my grade-D heckling didn't seem to work.

The Mariners inadvertently screwed themselves a few times.  First off, Dave the Softy gave our Felix one more reason to beat the Mariners.  Strike one.  Then, during the middle of the ninth, just as Bautista was about to come into the game, T-Mobile's lights went into that swirling/strobing mode very similar, if not nearly identical to his intro at OPACY.  Strike 2.

Finally, there is a food stand there that sells Old Bay fries, now known as rally fries.  Bought some on Friday late in the game - put some extra OB on there for good luck.  I was giving other O's fans rally fries for good luck, and I think it's safe to say that it worked.  Strike 3.

Went back for more rally fries on Sunday and ran into someone from Bel Air that went to Ring Factory as well - that was pretty cool.

The Mullins catch nearly made me pass out.  Literally.  I had been sweating in the sun all day and jumped up, screamed a bunch and mimicked the Mullins fist pump.  Stood there for a second and realized I was very, very dizzy.  I was in an absolute daze after the moonshot and everyone going nuts around me.

The balk, the review of the Mateo play at the plate, and Servais getting tossed had the fans pretty hostile - someone even threw a beer can into the Mariners dugout.  I'm fairly certain someone yelled "YEAH EAT SOME FRIES" as we ate one old bay fry after another before each pitch of Mullins' at-bat. God damn right I will.

Some pictures I snapped for anyone who's interested:  https://imgur.com/a/ZKaDcBF

Well I'm down in Nagshead, NC and the house I'm renting doesn't have MASN. But, despite being 6 and half hours from Baltimore, my MLB TV is blacked out. Good Lord I hate the stupid blackout rules.

Do you not have a VPN to "put yourself" in a different region?  If you do, you'll need to either clear your cache or use a private browser window, but a VPN does work to get around blackouts.

Have you tried using the MASN app?  Worked great for me when I was in Colorado.

    • Please please please stop with the Bauer! It's unbelievably tired, and smarter minds than you or I have decided that he's not worth the trouble. That means something. ME knows what he's doing.
    • It’s been a dramatic reversal. His command also looked good in Spring Training - 4 BB in 10.2 IP - so it was surprising to see it so bad early in the year. Hopefully it was just that back injury leading to the command issues and he’s over it now.
    • Teams will never give him the hoped for mega bucks.  Even if he was unlikely to ever get much more than a two year deal.  No it seems no team will give him even a real good one year deal.  He will be forced to accept a "prove it deal" Honestly it might be time to go the Trevor Bauer deal.  Sign him for one year deal and if he is too much distraction you cut him.  No way a team does not sign him if he is not being intentionally black balled.  The Orioles could afford to take the chance being a great team a couple of arms away from winning it all.
    • Considering we were DFA and losing him for zippo it a decent pick up. BTW, Hunt is showing in Seattle’s top 30 (#23) on MLB.com.
    • Whether this is a good trade will depend on how good Hunt is defensively and with pitch calling as a catcher.    Right now I just throw him into the mix with Handley as a backup catcher. Its not a good sign that Tampa traded him for another minor league catcher. Means' yet to be determined arm issue and Kremer issue with a blister makes the loss of Baumann something to watch. Heasley and  Povich look like the next men up if the O's need to add a pitcher from AAA. Glad to see McGough move from AA to AAA.
    • Time to see Cedric Mullins get his act together in Norfolk for a while. He's got some work to do.
    • Not sure where @scarey1999 is getting his information but Liranzo is still listed on the FCL roster and Eric_Birdland on X who goes to a lot of FCL games and gets some decent information had video of Liranzo practicing a month ago and last week said he’d be back soon.
