I think they wanted to see if Lopez can help fill the gap for Bautista next season assuming he gets Tommy John surgery. I don't see any of the old Lopez from 2022.

If the organization doesn't want to get rid of him yet then put him on the IL. He's been terrible so far and can't be trusted in anything but mop up duty.
