Is our system too left-handed?

It may be partly by design, given the change in dimensions of Camden Yards... but where are the right-handed hitters?

Cowser- L

Bassallo-L

Kjerstad-L

Holliday-L

Stowers (AKA- the forgotten man)- L

Beavers-L

Bradfield-L

(Not to mention Gunnar who graduated last year, hits lefty).

For Righties I have Mayo, Ortiz, Norby. ( I won't include Fabian yet- he needs to prove himself a more capable hitter for me).

Westburg is also RH.

I think a lot of it is just how it happened to shake out. But that said, the park is built for it, and left-handed hitters are the majority side of a platoon, so there's a little more value there.

I think how things are constructed it's ok for now. The ML team has Westburg, Mountcastle, Adley, Santander, and Hays as it's main right-side hitters vs. lefties.

The ballpark favors lefties.  Our bullpen has lots of Left Handed options as well.  The rotation has Means and Irvin for options this year, with Povich in AAA.  We need to invest in more LH SP in the draft or via trades.  Guys like Norby, Horvath, Ortiz, Westburg, Mayo, and Fabian, could be everyday players or matchup  against LHP.

The three switch hitters that we had last year gave us a big advantage I thought.  Adley, Santa, and Hicks.
