Yes.

I'm very excited about him.

But he might not stick at Catcher and he has some minor league Mountcastle in his game.*

His bat to ball skills are so advanced he hasn't needed to learn to be selective so we don't know if he will develop that skill.

*I have not seen him play, I am not a scout, I am going off of what I have read.

It’s the way the wind swirls.

But his power and his EV numbers are huge. He is a guy that could do it.

But it’s definitely a real challenge.

Im not sure he ever played at OPACY but the best bet to have done it would have been Bonds. No doubt in my mind if he played a season on the Orioles, he would have done it.

He had 19 walks and 20 strikeouts at Aberdeen so it seemed like he was trending in the right direction as the season wore on.

Mountcastle had .343 OBP vs .314 AVG at Frederick.

Basallo had .444 OBP vs .333 AVG at Aberdeen. And lefty. Seems like a different type of hitter.

I agree Basallo vs Holliday is a stretch due to Holliday's high floor but Basallo's ceiling is insanely high.

I saw Bonds hit #675 at Camden Yards. Inside outed a pitch he didn’t get all of to left/center and it barely got out. Made it to the first or second row.

That day was a banner day for PED usage at Camden Yards. Raffy hit two in that game which moved him past someone like Mantle or Schmidt on the all time list. I think the Orioles lost.

4:30 into this highlight video is Bonds putting one on the flag court.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
