Imagine how valuable Irvin would be if he weren't best suited for the bullpen.

I think Irvin as a pitcher is best suited for a starting  role as the #5 or maybe #4 rotation spot. He's a guy who doesn't have overwhelming velocity/stuff for the bullpen, but he does have good stamina and when he has his command, he's a strategist/artist pitching for soft contact.

Irvin is probably a #3 on a lot of staffs.
