Hays can’t hit strikes and can’t lay off balls.  Thats a really bad combo.

True. Cano's still good but, for whatever reason, no longer dominating and much more prone to mistake pitches.

OF id go with Cowser, Stowers, and Tony for the immediate future...No use for Hays or Mullins ...except maybe defensively...

I have hard time thinking of a player who should be in his prime that's crashed this hard and fast. With the talent the Orioles have in the outfield it's getting harder to justify any playing time for Hays.

Hays needs more practice. He's not seeing the ball that well and his timing is off.

Urias has a hitch in his swing and needs to level it out by working on his mechanics of he is going to have any success at the plate again.

Put this on the to do list, Coaches.

The Astros sent down Abreu, who has done way more in his career than Hays has.

So…why can’t we do the same thing?

The “whatever reason” is that he simply isn’t that great.

He was great those first 2 months and the Os have certainly changed him around but there’s a reason he was easily available.  He has been an ok reliever since those first 2 months.

He’s not a major league player right now. Corner OF’er with average defense that is slow and cannot hit. At least if Mullins isn’t hitting, he can steal bases and is a plus defender.

Hays is 28, though admittedly doesn’t look it.
