lol. Also, Cowser's wRC+ since June 1st is 103. Hardly killing the team especially with the defense he has been playing.

If the Mariners are trading Miller or Woo they are going to want Kjerstad. It’s hard to see a way around that because those SP have so much team control and they are going to want a MLB-ready bat with similar team control. I’m sure they want Mountcastle too, but Mountcastle is just not close enough in value to Miller/Woo to justify them doing a trade with Mountcastle being the best piece they get back, even if you’re adding guys like Hays, Urias, Norby, Stowers who would be immediate starters for them.

The only path I can see without Kjerstad would be Miller/Woo for Mountcastle & Kremer, with some other pieces. Kremer has decent trade value similar to Mountcastle with a fair amount of control remaining, and the Mariners do need to backfill the Miller/Woo rotation spot since they don’t have a ton of back-end rotation depth. 

The problem for the Orioles is that is one step forward, one step back in terms of getting 4 playoff starters this year and having controllable starters for 2025+, but the upside with those arms is much higher than Kremer. They’d still need to bring in another SP for this year.

Theres no trades being suggested because that would make no sense. I could care less about a home grown lineup and I think I speak for the majority of O's fans who watch the games. 

We're not gonna have 100 WRC+ at every position. No team does. It's just the reality of baseball. Do they need to stop slumping? Of course. But the pitching is way more concerning.

I agree, his defense has been top notch.  I'm not worried about the bat too much.

Without a lot more postseason success this year, I do feel like we are nearing that roster building phase if all these nice young ballplayers need someone like Frobby to teach them how to win.

For grins and giggles, you know who is unretired and might be a fun 13th pitcher in a Ryan Yarbrough kind of way next month?    Madison Bumgarner.

The league has watered down the playoffs so much I don't think all the consequences have played out, and one of them might be great players (or Rich Hill) just chilling and funneling the last tiny bit of their talent into like a 6 week stretch.     If Vinny Nittoli can be a Driveline student of the week, why not Bumgarner?

In Game 6 of the ALCS at OPACY, do you trust Cade Povich or Madison Bumgarner more to get once through the lineup?    Imagine the employee engagement it could inspire in one Adley Rutschman living out his dream of becoming Buster Posey.

Thats creative.  Imagine a guy with his demands might not take kindly to being pulled early when he’s having success.  More Ks more $. 
 

But, yea that could be a strategy for rest of season.  
 

It would also look pretty gnarly PR wise if he was asked to pitch in October and he refused.  He’d shrink his FA market.

He only put the bowl of Mikes candies with all the Ikes fished out as a test to make sure the team read through the entire 167 pages of demands.
