Gunnar had made his mind up to swing before that 3-2 pitch and almost nothing was going to change that. 

 

It literally took a pitch 2 feet out of the strike zone to 'almost' make him change his mind.

I personally think Hyde is pretty meh. He has flaws in his game and we see them all the time, usually in how he uses his pitchers.

Anyway, yes, what we can see of Hyde’s managing is his lineups and how he uses the pitchers, and it’s not good.

My point is that he DOES have a flaw in how he uses his pitchers, but in my opinion it is NOT in leaving his starters in too long.   I think he has too quick a hook.  I think he uses too many pitchers.

I don't think Bradish was left in "too long" today either.   You have to give a good pitcher a chance to work out of it.   As long as he isn't hurting and his pitch count isn't high.
