He should have left Cano in to pitch the 9th after he threw all of two pitches to end the 8th. That pushes Sir Anthony to the 10th. Best pitchers in the highest leverage situations.

Holliday has sucked at second in the minors and his sucking continues in the majors.  Jackson is all bat not glove.  Like Soto or Devers.  The amount of suck in the field he can display is epic in its awefulness.

All year long, Hyde pulls relievers after very short outings and winds up using too many.   It's his biggest flaw as a manager, IMO.

I can't fault him for not doing it, it's pretty unorthodox and does have its drawbacks.

It all comes down to Holliday's error.   He gets that out you walk O'Neill and  we're in really good shape.

Bingo.

Save your strikeout, high leverage guys for extras or when you have the lead in the 9th. Burning Cano on 2 pitches is so ridiculous.

I don't necessarily agree.   People gripe about his lineups, I typically don't.   I have the one issue with his relief pitcher usage, and that's about it.
