Adley shares tough health admission

So fess up Adley now that you have been a huge catalyst to another epic failure for this team. What is it exactly?

What did you do to address it? Did you talk about a stint on the DL to get better so you could actually help the

team out instead of fans dreading your name in the lineup.

Another epic failure?

Since Adley got here this team has done nothing but win, after doing nothing but lose epically and historically before he arrived.

Cry more, loser.

To be fair.. win in the regular season would be more appropriate.

Good point.

I long for the days of 55 wins when we didn't have to worry about postseasons and such.

So everything is great as long as we just make the playoffs? At what point is expecting to win a playoff game acceptable? Isn’t the goal to win a WS or is it to win more than 80 games?

If we’re just going to keep failing when it really matters in the playoffs then 55 wins or 95 wins doesn’t make a difference in the grand scheme of things. In fact, you could argue 55 is better for the long term.

Look, I don't want to insult you or anybody else, but arguing that a 55 win team is the same as a 95 win team is moronic beyond belief.

It's just that simple.

We also need to examine if he’s not putting in enough work and preparation and see if he’s spending too much time with his girlfriend.

I’m with @glenn__davison this one. Yeah, you sucked, you said everything was fine. Own it.

It doesn’t make me feel good that our so-called leader and elite catcher and face of the franchise is already beat up at age 26, so much so that he limped to the finish line in an embarrassingly awful way.  Back issues don’t always go away so easily, is this something that’s going to drag into 2025?  It’s an inherently brutal position from a physical perspective, is it already time to fit him for a first baseman’s glove and hope that he can put up an .800 OPS there?

We all knew that move was going to happen one day, maybe it’s time now. I wouldn’t be too mad at it, it gets Mounty and O’Hearn out of here.

But all I know for sure is that I was so wrong in 2019, and a lot of us were. I’d so much rather have Bobby Witt instead.

Yeah I don't want to hear it.  He and Hyde have been saying he's healthy, now some vague comments.

You sucked. Own it, take a long look in the mirror and figure out why, and come back next year.

Why not IL him?  They had a huge WC lead, practically guaranteed a playoff spot, why keep running him out there at 70%?

I suppose it's laudable that he wanted to tough it out but at some point Hyde or Elias needs to step up and tell him no.

I fully agree and we know they pulled this with Hays too, running him out there while he was dealing with things.

But I'm not buying that Adley was injured.  Hyde was asked directly a few weeks back and said he wasn't hurt.  It's one thing to not offer info like that but what benefit is it to lie?

This was something I was preaching.  Save the player from himself.  IL him and let him get healthy.

.207/.282/.303 post ASG for Adley.  I think 25th worst hitter in terms of OPS.

Something wasn’t right with the bats as a whole, but Adley was on another level of bad.

Injury or not, back problems or not…….you gotta be able to take yourself out if you aren’t producing and get rest.  Christian Yelich has had back issues for years now so they may not go away, but he’s been varying levels of productive, including a great stretch this year, until the injury popped up again.
