Co-hitting coach Ryan Fuller, Fredi Gonzalez and Jose Hernandez let go

I'm only a little surprised that ONLY Fuller was let go amongst the hitting coaches. Obviously I do not know the dynamics between the co-hitting coaches and the hitting strategist, but it looks like Fuller is catching the blame here.

Gonzales not coming back is a bit of surprise. Wonder if there was an issue between him and Hyde.

More than once Fredi displayed a lack of control that cost him his job.

If they were going to get rid of Fuller they should have done it a month and a half ago. The issues with our hitting were apparent the whole second half of the season. Maybe a firing or two would have sent a message to the players prior to their postseason fizzle. .

Getting rid of one half of the siamese twin hitting coach is odd, but whatever.  

I don't get letting Fredi go.  Not that I was a huge fan of his or anything but he seems well respected throughout baseball.

Maybe there is more to come here.  The other two hitting coaches could stay in the org and get new roles.   O’s tend to do these things very methodically.  Maybe Fuller was offered a new role and declined.  

Fredi change was probably about player relationship management and using the role to develop a back-up for Hyde.    Britton would provide stronger continuity for younger players.  Don’t see this as a role where Hyde brings in older mentor type.

Well, they went with a 2 headed hitting coach approach, and BOTH guys had no experience whatsoever working with major league hitters.

My guess is that if they continue with the 2-man concept, they will bring in a guy who HAS coached major leaguers in the past.   Then you might have a pair whose skillset complements each other at least a little bit.
