...this really brings up a bigger topic, but I don't like this play at all. To set up a double play when there's already 1 out? Not a fan.

Either way, I wonder if there's such thing as "manager's ERA". Y'know, the ERA of a manager when they make a call like this. Ultimately it's up to the pitcher, but the other issue is you put more runners on base.

I hate to say it, but I think you're right. It's UNREAL how every year we predictably swoon in the last 2+ months. It's just depressing. I can still look to find the positives in watching Wieters, Matusz and Tillman mature, but I wish we were just showing more signs of improving.

Here's to 2010 finally being the year we start to break out.
