Poor Chen. If he's relieved, relievers allow his inherited runners to score. He's left in, he lets those runners score. Two terrible pitches that inning on hitters he should have put away. Why can't our pitchers go eight shutout innings occasionally?

Our hitters, meanwhile, spent the first eight innings watching strike threes.

Jones gets a nice shot.

O's were never below .500 last season, IIRC. This is why you don't give away games like the last two, because sometimes you face good pitchers and your offense gets shut down.

Flaherty is right in the middle right now. He has always been a great hitter vs the fastball but struggled with the off speed stuff. This season they have been mostly throwing off speed stuff and he is way ahead or rolls over. The last game or so i have seen him trying to stay back but now is late on the fastball a few times.
