I don't know what else he's supposed to throw there. Salty guessed curveball, and Jake threw a pretty good one. If Salty was guessing fastball and Jake throws one then Salty might have hit it out. He is never going to hit that pitch out.

Ok. I just don't throw something that he can hit there. But the walk was probably bothering him and he was trying to end it quick. Meanwhile, we are being no hit.

It was an 0-2 pitch. He did not need to throw that ball. Not at all. Fastballs away. He throws too many pitches. Too many types.

I was actually just listening to a podcast where someone or other (it very well may have been Curt Schilling) was talking about Yu Darvish having this issue, when he first came over from Japan. Texas has worked with him to limit himself, so that rather than six or seven (or eight, or nine) pitches, he's working with three or four. And, well, you can see the results ...
