No. And I find that insulting. A player can be claimed this time of year when the rosters are full and then be waived to get them off the roster and still under team control. Since Yoon will be our 40th spot, they can claim and waive. Since Parades passed through the entire NL and 2 thirds of the Al, it is a good possibility that the Orioles could do that. I was simply trying to educate you to what the reasons a professional GM might do what Duquette did. Since you obviously do not know. I have no idea if that is what their plans are. It really was not a defense. I don't know much about this player. Was trying to reason my way though why we may have wanted him. No third basemen in the system. Flash can't player there since Buck won't let him. No Bonifacio. The ability to claim and waive. It just seemed like the only way it would be of any benefit.

Actually, it appears that you don't "got it". If we didn't claim him, Miami would outright him to AAA. Since we claimed him, if we pass him thru waivers, he remains our guy and we send him to Norfolk. Can play multiple positions and has a little speed. Basic replacement level utility guy that can shuttle to and from AAA if and when he is needed. Not a bad move. Zero reason to complain about this.

It's not a defense to explain the reasons for something to someone unable to grasp them. It is a fool's errand in this case, IMO.
