Don't get me wrong I'm pleased but concerned with this deal. I preferred Santana but I understand why they went with Jimenez.

Does it really require an explanation? He's expensive (relative to our budget) and high risk (injury/performance). That said, he has more talent/upside that I prefer over Ervin Santana.

Yes, they are quite similar. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm not crazy about Norris but I think he might be capable as the 5th starter.

The Os just got the best free agent pitcher this season. Duquette went from bonehead to genius in one week. The Os should be challenging for the top of the AL East. Many are concerned about the 4 year contract. I love it! He's an O for 4 years.

Yes. This! I've been thinking comparing Jimenez v Santana. I was even leaning toward Santana because I've seen him against us so much. He's very good when he's on. I thought the other day that Dan would prefer the max ceiling guy over the known quantity.
