While the O's have "kicked the tires" on Smith, Connolly writes that they also have interest in Venable. Seems right from a financial standpoint since he only has one year left on his contract. Seems like a left handed platoon player for right field, which I think we already have in Lough. Not too excited about this.

After our absolute failure in the ALCS, we could have fired Buck and Dan and brought in John Hart and Bo Porter to blow the whole thing up and our off season could have been every bit as exciting as the Padres, Dodgers, Tampa and California Angels off seasons.

Venable has 22 homers in 2013 and never had 15 any other season. He's never hit .270...with the exception of 2013 he can't hit lefties...with the exception of 2013 Nick has been a better player every year. Pass big time!
