Harvey is the second best Orioles prospect.

I know this how in the world did you come to the conclusion that Harvey would = Robertson in this trade?

Just pointing out this is a joke. Rays didn't ask the world for him.

O's really wanted him, but asking price was deemed too high</p>— Roch Kubatko (@masnRoch) <a href="

The Rays got the world for him. Robertson is better than any position prospect we have.

Once again only cause they traded the farm he was 10th just 6 months ago.

You are obviously wrong. He was ranked ninth for the As last year per BA and fourth per BP and Sickels, was ranked first for the A's this year per BA, and is now first for the Rays per MLB.com. It is one thing to be incorrect. It is quite another to be so easily proven wrong and cling to your false claim by backpedaling and making excuses. Robertson was Oakland's number one ranked prospect when traded to the Rays, not number 10, as you claimed. That is very clear. Now, you can certainly disagree with the rankings if you wish, but the rankings are what they are, and they are not as you claim them to be.

What part are you not getting? He was number 1 only cause they traded the farm away. Guy was number 9 in early 2014.

No one is claiming this. This is, however, what Tampa Bay apparently wanted from the Orioles. It is not unusual for a team to require more in a trade with a division rival that from a team in a different division.

I will put it this way. Orioles trade Bundy , Harvey , Walker , Sisco , Avarez, Davies, Berry and Wright. Yastrzemski would be number 1 in the Oriole system do you really think other teams see him as a number 1 prospect?

Show me 1 report that said they wanted Harvey.

I am getting every part, including your false claim that Robertson was Oakland's 10th ranked prospect at the time of the trade. It is also clear that you will continue to try to backpedal. You were very obviously wrong and were called on it. Why you choose to continue this tack is the only mystery here.

Just curious, what would you imagine the O's would have had to give up? Outside of the top pitchers we don't have a lot to offer.

    • While I wouldn’t love a trade involving Basallo.  And would prefer a lesser tier player. I understand that you have to give value in order to get value. And I don’t think we can continue to afford to punt present opportunities for future possibilities (that may or may not come). I also acknowledge what you stated that Miller has a notable injury risk. But I believe you don’t make the shots that you don’t take. IMO Miller would put us over the top in terms of being a WS favorite this year. And if we could pair him with Bautista for a few seasons in the future, the odds would be seriously stacked in our favor in the postseason.
    • They didn't draft him to hit home runs. That said, I think he'll get one out this year. More than likely on the road, given Aberdeen's dimensions, but he's hitting it well now.
    • Big fan of JM.   Even as bad as he was late last year I always thought he was an asset.   Very happy to see him hitting better, and his fielding has never been better.  He looks like a savant out there.
    • Great lineup to be at the game today.
    • Not as many wins as the Yankees.
    • I don’t disagree with anything you said, my point was that he slipped a bit. Normally you’re right, it wouldn’t matter, great players have bad days. However, with his injury, history, and the fact that he’s always throwing as hard, it is possible for a human to throw, the injury risk lowered the price a bit. A few weeks ago, I posted about the possibility of a Basallo/Miller trade, so I’m definitely willing to acquire him, and pay a lot for him to boot. But the injury risk is real, and, although it’s minor, probably irrelevant, he has slipped a bit recently.
    • Putting aside results/outcomes for the moment, but To me, Hays has physically looked stronger/faster these last few appearances (even if sporadic usage) rather than his IMO 80% and constantly banged/nicked up.  I see him continuing to get more comfortable in this limited role and be a real asset as weak side platoon and pinch hitting option.
