First off the owners are not going to fire themselves so that isn't an option.

The GM decided getting HamRam and putting him into left was a good idea. The GM decided that Panda was a good idea. The GM decided paying an old, fragile closer 2/18 was a good idea. The GM negotiated the 80 million deal with the slightly below average starting pitcher.

I'm really hoping Andrew Miller has TJ surgery and I don't feel bad about it one bit. He's getting his money. It's not costing him anything. And it completely screws the Yankees.

They have money but Henry won't spend it on big contracts anymore. I think Cherrington is just doing what he can. HanRam will be at DH soon enough.

I get some of your points but that market isn't going to stand for not spending. Those contracts won't hurt them. They have some young players. Next year Napoli and Victorino will be gone, maybe Big Papi.
