Clearly that's the issue. The failure of Esposito to develop and the lack of drafting of a good 3B really forced the O's to resign JJ and hope he didn't come back as Mark Belaner like he has.

I think the Orioles are bad at developing players and at the same time have a lot of bad luck (injury eg. Bundy, Harvey, Adam Loewen, Reimold and may others). Hopefully we can improve soon because our farm system is very barren.

Our defense on the left side of the infield is the single best thing about this team. I fully support the decision to resign Hardy.

Our left side of our defense is very good, but we can't expect to run with the big boys playing a guy everyday with a .588 OPS.

I see that Davis struck out with bases loaded and nobody out. Look, he has great power, and this puts fans in the seats. But it does not necessarily improve the chances of winning. Davis is worth only 3.4 wins this year, despite this being a career year. And the number one reason you can't afford to overpay for Davis is that you already have a free swinger in the middle of the lineup (AJ).
