Any Bullets Left?.....Or Going Down In Flames?

Lamenting about something that has not actually happened (playoff elimination) only gets you the privilege of having been a whole lot more sad, butt hurt and pouty about it than the rest of us for whole lot longer. Really not worth aspiring to in my opinion.

Talking about next year is one thing, giving up on this year seems kinda wasteful. Baseball is a strange and wonderful game, don't let your disappointment ruin that until it has to

I don't know if it's truly over until it's actually over. But it's a rough schedule facing us. The O's need to take this one game at a time. Think only of the current game and don't think of anything else coming down the pike.

I've said plenty in other threads about DD's doings during the off season, so I won't go over these here. Right now, we have the players that we have and we have to go with them. See what happens.

This team has what it needs to compete. I don't blame Dan for one minute for this mess. The pitchers need to pitch better and the coaching staff needs to coax it out of them. We need timely hitting. It's a rough patch right now. Things were gloomy, then we swept the A's and everything was amazing, and then we lost five and it was gloomy again.

As backbreaking as the past four games have been, I really don't think this team is going up in flames or spiraling towards a 70-something win finish.

However, the losing streak has done enough damage that our playoff odds have gone from reasonable to serious long shot in a very short span. I'm still watching, but with three teams now ahead of us for WC #2, things aren't looking good.

This is a great post.

Have a greenie.
