I tend to believe this over Mad Dog's report. It will be interesting to see what he gets.

How is he worth 3-4 wins offensively? He was about 15 runs above average on offense in '15 and '13 (roughly +20 as a hitter, -5 as a runner). And he's a pure DH or a very poor first baseman.

In other words, he's a 125 wRC+ hitter and everything else on his resume is a zero or less.

Just looking at oWAR on bbref. 6.3, 3.3, 5.5, 5.2, 3.1, 0 (injured), 2.5. I don't know if those numbers account for baserunning but you can always pinch run in a close game.

Just looking at oWAR on bbref. 6.3, 3.3, 5.5, 5.2, 3.1, 0 (injured), 2.5. I don't know if those numbers account for baserunning but you can always pinch run in a close game.

bb-ref really presents that in a very poor way. There's no such thing as offense above replacement and defense above replacement, they don't add. There only players above replacement, based on interaction of fielding value and offensive value. You can't extract 3-4 wins out of Fielder because of his lack of defensive value. As a DH he takes the 5-run penalty over a 1B. As a 1B he's a joke.

Putting OBP and BA side by side as a comparison is a little misleading...
