4/29 Rays at O's: battle for first place

Since you are an expert on fundamental baseball, tell me something. How does a good SS manage to know when to cut that ball of from RF when the play at 3B is behind him ? It doesn't seem to me that he can watch the play and look for the ball at the same time but maybe the great ones like Jeter can.

Im pretty sure that Millar immediately signaled for the throw to go to 2B. Hernandez could easily tell when Hinske had passed him on the way to 3B, I wonder if anyone was yelling "Cut 2"

The point is simple.

You have a 2-0 lead and Jason Bartlett is in no man's land between 1st and 2nd base. You take the out every single time.

Fundamental baseball.

Whatever, apologist.

There was an out right in front of his face named Jason Bartlett. Argue that.

If you can't answer the question, then it's yet another example of some one talking out of their service entrance. How would he know he couldn't get the out at 3B? That would be preferred?
