August Home Run Record?

What is the record by a team for August? By my count, were at 50 so far (48 + 2 more today). We took the record for June with 56. I haven't been able to find the number with Google attempts thus far.

55 Homeruns were hit in August by Seattle in 1997, both Oakland and Texas in 1999. Source was Baseball-Referance.

It was the conquering of the June home run record that started this tail spin. June 29th was the last day of dominating bliss. I don't want to challenge any more of them.

Trumbo (10), Davis (10) and Machado (9) by themselves have hit more combined HRs in August (29) than four AL teams. Throw in Alvarez (6) and that group has more HR's than all but three other AL teams this month (Toronto, New York, Tampa). All in all, it has been a homer-happy month around the league, with teams averaging 1.29 HR/game and no AL team below 1.00 HR/game.

With three games at home, this has a very good chance of falling.

Hopefully it does, because we'll need all we can get against the Jays.

Don't know where the 72 RBI comes from, but the team has scored 125 so far in Aug.

We haven't hit 55 HR yet. I doubt he bothered to look at the RBI from the 54 we have so far.
