The throw pulled his foot off the plate - watch the replay. Wieters had his head completely in the game.

Yeah lot easier to tag runner that you can see in front of you then trying to see behind you and tag the plate. You try to hold bag but if you have to go out and get the ball the tag is what you want to do.
