Understood, but before he came along, the rhetoric was different this time of year from the Orioles.  It was like watching paint dry.

Saunders was a beast in OPACY last year.  I think his power plays up good all over the field, sort of like Davis.  He's the type of guy we should be targeting.  AL East experience.  Will be 30-32 on a 3 year deal.  Lot's of room for reward with that deal.  Even his floor seems like it would be Pedro Alvarez type production at DH.  3/33-39 wouldn't kill us.

So for two years in a row we can block the only hitting prospect we have--sounds like the Oriole way. Trumbo can't field and just had a career year...let him walk and get an extra pick for a change.

Man, well we can always hope Trumbo continues to do well in Camden Yards.  Really hoping it's under $70 mil.

Just makes no sense that they would spend the money on a player that doesn't fit our needs yet Dexter Fowler who may get similar money is out of our price range yet he fits our needs.

MLB Network reporting Orioles talking to Mets about some sort of Brach for Granderson/Bruce trade.

This is something grounded in reality that I would think has legs.  You don't get a reliever of Brach's quality for less than $40 million

The thought of Granderson for a year, even at his age is pretty enticing.  But if they want Brach they'll have to take a bad SP off our hands too.  That's my thought.

#orioles worked on Rule 5 list.  Duquette said looking at catchers, OF, pitchers "couple INF too." That about covers it.

I can dig that - maybe the Chi Sox' asking price won't be ludicrous on the heels of a good deal for Sale.
