Michael Bourn/Steve Pearce platoon

I know Buck really liked Michael Bourn. He performed well for the O's down the stretch. Really surprised his name hasn't been mentioned more to return in 2017. I'd be ok with a Bourn/Pearce platoon in LF. Then trade for a Granderson or Bruce.

Where would Rickard fit in this scenario?  And Kim?  I figure Kim to DH, Rickard 5th OF or AAA.

I'd have some interest in bringing Bourn back, but it depends on price.   His play for us was considerably better than his play over the rest of 2013-16.   Still, I like his tool set.    If he could be obtained for something like 1/$6 mm I'd consider it.

We already have one or two platoons. I dont want another.

I don't really care.    We don't platoon in the infield or in CF.    I have questions whether a platoon in LF or DH is really necessary (Kim hit lefties just fine in 2012-15 in the KBO, and Mancini hit righties well in the minors).   Both Bourn and Pearce bring some versatility and I don't think an outfield of Jones, Kim, Rickard, Bourn and Pearce would be bad.

Mancini fills the bill IMO.   He should get 500 PA and the rest can come from whatever outfielders aren't playing the field on a given day.

Ok. That would work with your platoons.

Platoons look great on paper...not so much in real life. Plus it forces you to waste a roster spot. We need someone who we can play in the OF everyday. I personally would like to move on from Steve Pearce and find someone better.

Pearce produces for Rays, nada for us, now goes to Jays.  No more sentimental reunions with this guy.  34 year old parttimer.  2014 is long gone.  Goodbye, hope you hit .125 for the Blowjays.

He has hit all the AL East except Boston.
