Yeah, because promoting a guy to the majors before he is ready is a great way to help the offense. Jones was much more successful in AAA than Reimold has been in AA and he is struggling too. How about we just all sit back and remember we are rebuilding, we are not going to win the WS this year, and let the chips fall as they may.

When we panic and start rushing prospects, we are going to destroy our rebuilding plan and be stuck in this perpetual cycle that we have been in for 11 years now.

He has more walks than k's...... he is better than people in the O's everyday lineup... he is player that is likely to be your 2009 starting LF... why not let him get as many Major league Ab's as possible this year, and be that much more ready to produce on a consitsent basis in 2009?

Whenever he comes up, there will be an adjustment... it might as well occur in a year that you correctly state we are not going to win the WS.

I agree. It's time. I just want to make sure that Scott and Huff continue to get ABs; Scott because he's going to be a part of next year's team, and Huff because he's been doing well and we need to keep him hitting to increase his trade value.

Actually, it'd be kind of good if Mora were hurt in some way, because then Huff could play 3B, Millar could still play 1B, Scott could DH and Reimold could play everyday in LF.

How about we take the mid-point between his .859 this year, and his .930 OPS last year, since we are talking about basically the same number of at-bats?

Something closer to .890 or so... that should be in the .735 to .750 range in the bigs...

I hope it will be better than that.

I expect these translations are averages. To apply it to a particlar player establishes a potential baseline or expectaton - but I would assume that better prospects outperform the averages and lesser ones do not.

One thing they might see is Scott in left and Huff at DH which leaves no regular spot for Reimold. A trade could change that before the year is out though.

What are the waiting for to send Reimold to AAA? Dead silence here because I have no idea.

I'd really like Nolan to get about 150 AB's in AAA. I'm very curious how hes going to handle the better breaking stuff, and see if his K numbers continue to improve. I don't think he should up on the ML team, but I'd certainly love to see him spend between now and September on Tides with a call up to the ML squad if hes proven that his plate discipline has indeed improved.

Really. AJ hit .968 OPS at AAA last year at age 21. Reimold at 24 is hitting .859 OPS in AA and we expect him to tear it up at a ML level? I think we only have room to carry AJ for now.

I'll go out on a limb and say Reimold is not the hitter that Millar is at this point in his career. He needed to be in AAA to start the season if the O's were really sold about bringing him up to the big club this season. I think he needs to be in AAA now getting 150 ab's or so to prove that his improvement in discipline isnt the result of his second stint at AA. I want to see how he reacts to the better breaking stuff before tossing him to the wolves on the ML team.

Does anybody think Reimold is going to improve on Luke Scott's current numbers? I sure don't. Hell, I'd be surprised if he surpassed Payton's mediocrity.

Now, if he could play 1B, SS, or catcher then we might talk about it.
