If a batter foul tips a ball into the catcher's glove and it is caught, is this considered as "missing a bat"?  

If Trey Mancini lays out for a ball that he has no chance of catching, is this considered an attempt to catch the ball?  Is his UZR affected in a negative way?

If Tim "Beckam" throws a ball into the ground in an attempt to relay the ball to 3Bman, Renato Nunez, resulting in no further advance, will @Tony-OH criticize this meaningless play?

If Cedric Mullins gets to and touches a ball with a 0% catchability rating, will OH pundits criticize his efforts?  If he gets to another ball hit way over his head (and a low % of completion), bobbles the ball when he hits LCF wall, nearly recaptures it but drops it as he crumples to the artificial surface, will he again be criticized?

If Jonathan Villar hits a 2 run homer in a 14 - 5 (later 16 - 5) blowout loss, will Jim Hunter still marvel at his multi-hit effort?  And will Bordy possibly use the "turning and burning" phrase to accentuate his mock glee?  "That maybe carried over the flag court!"
