  • I was at the game tonight (last night) and I saw from Bundy the same thing he has shown far too many times this year. Where is the guy that once threw a fastball that would hit 96 or 97?   How about 94 or 95?  During the first three innings he was throwing 89, 90, 91 regularly.  I texted a friend and told him that and his next pitch was 92.  A pitch or two later he hit 93 and then it was back to mostly 89-91. Line drives everywhere!  Too many 3-2 counts and before you know it the score was 4-1 and then 5-1 and boom they bring in the other mystery pitcher Tanner Scott to clear the bases of the inherited runners to make Bundy's line look as bad as his outing last time out. 7 or 8 runs in 5 innings or less. Scott either strikes out the side or at least one or two hitters every time he relieves or he gets crushed and as I've said before has the same expression whether he pitches poorly or great. What a mystery. Bundy is either tired or the ankle is still not right Probably both!.  I would shut him down for at least two starts maybe three and bring him back one more time and see if anything changes. If not the season is almost over so just shut him down and bring up Rogers. Ortiz, Kremer or Akin.                                                       Other notes; Villar looks great and crushed one onto Eutaw Street. Tagged up on first and made it to second on a deep fly to CF. He's a complete player as many of us have known who have seen him the last few years. He gets to more balls than Schoop would get to and that's a good thing whether he's at 2B or SS.  Duquette in an interview the other night said he has more range than Schoop. This is not to bad mouth him it's just a fact.. Schoop is too big for 2B in my opinion and should be at 3B.

Orioles should have traded Bundy earlier in the season when his stats looked better.

Classic example of having it both ways. We trade Bundy in June and everyone is like,

He’s the type of pitcher you build around or the return wasn’t good enough

IMO, Bundy with all of Bundy’s injuries he’s overcame, the guy needs the “Chen” treatment.  Give him an extra days rest whenever you can.

And if he did, would it not be simply because time was on his side?

We might not know, but I'm no longer a fan of Buck and I thought McDowell should have been replaced after last season. Given Buck's history with pitching coaches in Baltimore, I think a change might do Bundy good. I certainly hope we find out.

It has to be his shoulder. I'm not an expert, but looking at other examples most guys regain their stuff after TJS. If they can swindle a team over the winter, they should trade him ASAP.

At this point, he's no better than Tillman. 89 mph straight fastballs won't get it done in MLB. Why keep him? He's not a guy your going to risk a long-term extension on anyhow. I personally think he's toast. He looks exhausted out there after what 120 IP?
