Question: Is that Ryan Mountcastle at first base?

Pete Schmuck does a short video.   It shows Davis fielding a ground ball.  Then as it follows him after the play it pans over to another player.  Is that Mountcastle at first?

Good eye, that's Mountcastle.

He didn't have a first baseman glove though.

Last year in Spring Training, he was taking fly balls in left on the back fields atleast one time.

He could have been just standing in a place that was between Davis and the camera, from what I saw. Throwing warm up tosses in fouls ground or something.

Wilkerson probably has a Swiss Army glove. Only the hand/wristband part stays the same.

I know sticking him at first may hurt his WAR or whatever with the positional adjustment, but I'm still happy to see this.

Instead of Davis and Trumbo there should be Mancini and Mountcastle.

Well he’s not ready. Trumbo is gone after this year. Mancini May be traded or play DH. Davis is irrelevant. If there’s a legit prospect, he won’t be blocking

Agree totally.  A bad fielding 3rd baseman doesn't help a team no matter how well he hits.  If he is better at first put him there.  Davis can play right field when he plays.

Good post. Mancini says he likes DH’ing.  I know that isn’t the best for WAR but I think Mountcastle at 1B, and Mancini at DH, could be our OD 2020 lineup. 

The whole finding a position for Mountcastle other than 1B is kind of irrelevant now. Trumbo will be gone ASAP. Davis isn’t far behind. There isn’t a 1B prospect in the minors that we need to accommodate either. 

I could see Mountcastle being a Ryan Zimmerman type at 1B. 20-25 HR power.
