Thank you so much @OFFNY for transcribing @Tony-OH's appearance. That's a lot of work ........ much appreciated.

Thanks.

It's really not that much work ........ I put more effort into transforming the rough drafts into final drafts with the fonts that I use and the punctuation corrections that I make than I do into actually getting down the gist of what Roy and/or Tony say.

You probably don't get enough credit for all the cool things you do on this board. Transcriptions, line-ups, pitching stat lines, etc. Love the Homer updates as well, would be awesome if you could add the player's OPS at the end of the game where he hit the homer, but now I'm just being greedy. But seriously, thanks for being one of the best posters.

Thank you for posting this interview. I missed it this time. I was a little bit surprised about the comments about Cisco behind the plate. I thought I heard the other night he ranked 8th behind the plate in pitch framing. He seems okay to me. He has less passed balls than Severino who seems to have one every game.

Keep in mind that when I post radio interviews of Tony Pente and Roy Firestone, I am paraphrasing ...... subsequently, there may be a thing or two in my transcriptions that may be somewhat amiss.

Regarding Sisco re: Tony's take - It seems easy to me, that Sisco can get plenty of plate appearances as a left handed C/1B/DH that gives Severino (R), Nunez (R), and eventually Mountcastle (R) and Rutschman (S) days off.  The backup catcher doesn't have to be a defensive specialist if the primary catcher is good (ie Rutschman), and even so, the Orioles can carry three C if need be.

FWIW Sisco has been decent at framing this year per baseballsavant, 23rd of 56 qualifiers. Severino is near the bottom. I have no idea if there is a better source for framing, nor do I know how long it takes for framing to stabilize.

I don't know how you can grade framing this season with as erratic as the umps have been.  What's your baseline for what is a strike?

I almost added something about that. Does the catcher get credit when the ump just decides to start calling strikes 6 inches off? And blame when a ball is called middle of the zone?
