I have to say that while its terrible to hear about a brave soul dying, its certainly a classy move by the ballclub to cancel the game. They should take all the time they need to heal and regroup.

Their first home game since his passing will give you goosebumps.  Mom throws out the first pitch, Trout leads a seven run first, and they pitch a combined no-hitter.

They all wore his #45 jersey and after the game they all took off their jerseys and lay them on the mound, covering the while mound.

By the way, his Mom threw out the first pitch from on top of the mound, and threw a strike to pitcher Andrew Heaney behind home plate.  60 feet 6 inches.

His Mom, Debbie, was the high school softball coach for 30 years in Santa Monica.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is supposed to be released through the skin over 3 days and is usually for the most chronic pain situations (think hospice).  Really sad he even got his hands on it.  And guessing he got the medication out of the patch and ingested it all at once.   Unreal.
