He didn't need to play it perfectly. It was a clean hop, it was the second hop, but clean nonetheless. He had plenty of time to catch it and then apply the tag, didn't even need to be a "catch and tag" all in one motion.

Poor throw by Montanez, but it was still good enough to get the job done if Ramon does his.

Well, Montanez got the E, so maybe it was his fault.

That was ridiculous that Montanez got an error on that. It wasn't the best throw in the world but it wasn't the worst either. It was at least on target...the catcher has to keep that in front of him.
