PRE-GAME CHATTER

The Milwaukee Brewers, dealt a severe blow with the season-ending injury to Christian Yelich 2 and-a-half weeks ago, have been beating anybody and everybody ever since ........ the Brewers had won their 5th consecutive game when Yelich went down with a fractured kneecap on September 10th. They have gone 12-2 in the 14 games since, and are on a 17-2 overall run in their last 19 games.

The Milwaukeeans' 2019 season has been a quintessential example of "Next Man Up."

UPDATE

The Brewers won again yesterday afternoon.

The hard-charging Milwaukeans have now gone 13-2 in the 15 games since the Christian Yelich injury, and are on an 18-2 overall run in their last 20 games.

They stand 1 full game behind the 1st-place St. Louis Cardinals, with 3 games left to play.

I hope it cheers everybody up to know that these games are as meaningless for the Red Sox as they are for us. Misery loves company especially if said with a Boston accent…

The only thing that could make the misery of Boston playing for nothing in this series enjoyable would be the O's knocking Boston out of a playoff spot in this series.

Last year's season felt like it was 5 years long.

Once the mystery of who the O's would get in the fire-sale trades of their tradeable players last season, there was nothing more to keep us interested.  this year it has been fun to watch some of these guys develop and battle (Alberto, Santander, Means, Hays, etc.)
