Yes, semi-gentrified.   The Atlas Theater is a big draw, they have a streetcar that operates there, and several nice restaurants.    Can still be a bit dicey in parts but overall very nice.

I'd say that is in the realm of reasonably thick.  More than I would wear but not gaudy.

Castro should travel with some security. It’s like when athletes get DUIs. Don’t they make enough to hire drivers?  Even drivers that won’t care what the heck you’re doing.
